Bloomin’ in the Garden

Bloomin’ in the Garden in Roundhay Park Leeds

Free public performances Saturday 3 October at 11am and 2pm at The Rose Garden Bandstand at Roundhay Park are for everyone to enjoy. No tickets are required – just turn up!

Bloomin’ in the Garden is a new theatre project from The Performance Ensemble that transforms familiar outdoor spaces into places for performance, creativity and connection. It creates joyful, accessible performances for people to enjoy in the open air.  This is a free to attend, non ticketed event that is suitable for children, familes and older adults alike.

Bloomin’ in the Garden is funded by Leeds City Council and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority through the Seasons of Culture 2026: Nature programme, a wider celebration inviting people across Leeds and West Yorkshire to connect with nature, the outdoors and creativity in our green and blue spaces.

Through this funding, The Performance Ensemble is taking high-quality live performance to public audiences, and directly to older people in the places where they live – creating opportunities to experience theatre, nature and creativity together.

TPE is Inspired by Nature

We have always been interested in projects surrounding nature. We think it is important to share work about nature and the enviroment as it is the one thing that we all share. Take a look  below at A Promise of a Garden, a project that we worked on a few years ago after covid, highlighting how much nature meant to us all during such a difficult and uncertian time.

Bloomin' in the Garden in Local Care Homes

We are also inviting Leeds-based care homes to host a small-scale, high-quality theatre project designed to bring gentle, fully accessible outdoor performances directly to residents. Performances can take place in care home gardens, with indoor spaces used as a weather-friendly alternative.

Created especially for residents who may be frail and living with dementia, each performance blends humour, music, dance, storytelling, and sensory moments inspired by the natural world.
