Community Engagment

The Performance Ensemble works in community hubs across four coners of Leeds and beyond, including in Bradford, Doncaster and Barrow-in-Furness. We fasilitate arts and performance workshops for older people, aiming to allow everyone the opportunity to be creative, regardless of their age. There is much research into the benefits of Creative Ageing, and The Performance Ensembles work allows local communinty members to engage in the arts as they get older. Everyone is creative and has a story to tell and should be given the opportunity to do so.

Our sessions take place at:
– Lychee Red, community group of older Chinese individuals at Health for All community centre in Beeston.
– Hoksworth Older Peoples Services on Mondays
– Older Wiser Local Seniors in West Leeds on Mondays
– Richmond Hill Elderly Action on the first Tuesday each month
– Harehills Creative Womens group on Tuesdays
– Chapel FM Arts Centre on Thursdays
– Feel Good Factor on Fridays
– The Vandan Group of older women who are part of the Gujirati community, at the Health for All Cardigan centre in Kirkstle.

We also hold open sessions at our home at Yorkshire Dance. These sessions run from 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm and we would love to welcome anyone age 60+ to attend these performance sessions, commencing on the 2nd of May 2025.
