This April and May, The Performance Ensemble will be gathering stories through conversations with older people from Harrogate and the surrounding areas.

The team at TPE would love to get in touch with older people in the area who are interested in getting involved. By older we mean 60+ or thereabouts! Our first step is to have a chat over a cuppa and get to know each other.

Making the show

In June, some of these stories will be woven into a rich and moving show told through bold performance, beautiful dance, original music and song. This new Sinfonia production will be co-created by TPE’s experienced performers with older people from the Harrogate area. It will be presented at the beautiful, historic Harrogate Theatre from 25th to 27th June.

Audiences will laugh, cry, be surprised, possibly shocked, by this unique insight into older people’s lives. Sinfonia explores the relationship between personal intimacy and public presentation. The show will demonstrate how we can build love and solidarity for one another, when we believe in something together.

Previously, Sinfonia productions have been created with people from Leeds, Doncaster and Barrow-in-Furness.
