Funded PHD Opportunity with The Performance Ensemble

Collaborative Scholarship at University of Leeds 2024

We are supporting 1 full-time or part-time PhD scholarship in the School of Performance and Cultural Industries at University of Leeds for a UK candidate and will be offering the UKRI maintenance stipend (currently set at £18,622) and tuition fees.

Applications are invited for our PhD project that will be jointly supervised by the School of Performance and Cultural Industries and The Performance Ensemble. We are keen to work with a PhD candidate who can explore and develop ways of working with storytelling that include digital technology, such as sound and movement interaction, geo-locative apps, sound art, as well as techniques for verbatim and autobiographical theatre. The aim of the PhD would be to deepen the possible impact of the storytellers themselves; making material relevant and available to a wide, intergenerational audience.

Please consider applying or sharing with anyone who may be interested in this opportunity.

Application deadline Friday 1 March 2024

Funding start date Tuesday 1 October 2024
